Teaching Experience
I am a NJ state certified teacher of English and previously taught high school English for nine years in various NJ public schools, including the Bergen County Academies. I have experience teaching all levels of English, from basic skills to Advanced Placement, and all levels of students including students with learning disabilities. Presently I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor of
Education in the Department of Secondary and Special Education at Montclair State University, where I teach a variety of courses for students preparing to become teachers.

Research Experience
As a doctor of education trained at Teachers College, Columbia University and an educational researcher as a part of my professional work at Montclair State University, I am immersed in the most current research in literacy education. My research interests include developing and advanced literacies, reading and writing assessment, multimodality, and technology integration. I have studied with various research groups including the prestigious Reading and Writing Project and taken specialty coursework on assessment and instruction strategies that promote the most student achievement.
